Mommy & Me Swimming #2

Silverton YMCA

Tonight was our first night of swimming lessons for the second time. As usual, Zachary LOVED it. We had so much fun, but we did miss our swimming buddy's from last time.

This time the class was a little more structured than the first time. We worked on kicking, using our arms, floating on our stomach and back, and jumping into the water. I couldn't seem to get the smile of of Zachary's face. In fact, we was a little mad when the class was over and it was time to get out.

We are looking forward to our next class on Wednesday!! I can't wait to watch Zachary progress, he seems to love it so much!!

'Toys'

At this point in Zachary's life, he seems to have 'no fear'. He loves, loves, loves 4-wheelers, motorcycles, tractors, cars and trucks. Actually he loves anything with a steering wheel or handle bars.

In fact, Ben has started taking Zac up to Power Yamaha to look at the 4-wheelers on the weekend. He can't get enough...Zac that is. He seems to get a little grouchy when we leave all the 'toys' at the store. In fact, we were up there is last weekend and Ben found Zac's future 4-wheeler......it is a mini white raptor that matches his....LOL!! I had to inform him that Zac was a little bit to small for one yet!!! (not pictured below)

Picking out a Back Pack

It's almost summer time and we were wanting to do some light hiking and walking around the parks this summer so we needed to find a hiking back pack for Ben to carry Zac.

We weren't sure how Zac would like being in the back pack, so we deicided that we should put him in the pack pack to test it out!!

Zac LOVED the back pack.  Once again, he couldn't stop smiling.  Then he discovered that he was really close to his dad's head and ears.  He actually began to play with Dad's ears and glasses.  It was so cute to watch them both.  Ben was enjoying it as much as Zac was.

It was a success....we bought it and have used it many times!!

Mother's Day

We had a very relaxing and fun Mother's Day. It started out with Ben and Zachary letting me sleep in, which was soooo nice. We were able to hang around the house and play and enjoy each other as a family! Zachary was very loving and happy today (as usual) which was awesome.

Then at around 3:30, we packed up and headed over to Kofoid's. Ben & Scott got together and decided to surprise Rachel & I with and afternoon out and they watched all the kids. So, Rachel and I went to go see the movie 'Water for Elephants' at the Cinnabar and have dinner. We had a lot of fun just hanging out and relaxing. We haven't been able to go to the movies together in a LONG time, so it was quite a treat for us.

Thank you Ben and Zachary for a GREAT Mother's Day!! I love you both!!

Pacific City May 2011

Camping Camping Camping

On Friday we packed up the RV and headed to Pacific City for the weekend. It was an exciting weekend because Matthew, Morgan and Caleb were getting to take their trailer also for the very first time!! It was their maiden voyage. While there, we had so much fun and the weather was amazing for most the weekend.

We stayed at Cape Kiwanda Campground with was fully equipped with all the hookups for our trailers (which was a first for us), indoor heated pool and a play ground right out the back of our trailers. And the best part....we were right across the street from the beach and Pelican Bay.

While camping this trip, Zachary was able to have a few 'firsts'. It was the first time he got to sit and touch the sand, go down a slide, swing in a swing, and ride on a battery powered four wheeler with me (which he loved).

On Friday, after we arrived, we got unpacked and took the short walk to the Pelican Bay for a late lunch. Then back to camp and hung out and played on the play ground and made friends with our camping neighbors. Dave (Morgan's dad) showed up early evening with our steaks for dinner. We hung out inside a little as it was a little drizzly out, while the kids where still off. The kids were off to bed then we all sat by the campfire having a great time. Then off to bed.

Saturday, we got up and finally got breakfast better and got ready for the day. All the guys went to Sand Lake for a few hours to go riding, while Morgan and I stayed at the camp with the boys. We had a lot of fun. Caleb played on the playground for quite a while, then we were off the indoor heated pool. The boys had a blast!! They both loved to splash and play in the water. In fact, they were a little upset when it was time to go. Then back the camp ground for lunch and naps. The guys arrived back in the early afternoon. Off to the beach after that. The weather was wonderful out so we were able to go hang out. We had alot of fun putting Zachary on Caleb's battery powered four wheeler. He loved it. We also played on the swing which was a good time. The rest of the day was full of playing and hanging out.

Sunday, was such a nice day we didn't want to leave at 12 as we were suppose to, so we asked and got permission to stay later in the campground. We were able to go to Pelican Bay and have lunch and play on the beach. While having lunch we were entertained by people getting stuck in the sand. Ben and Matthew actually went and even helped one guy. Zachary got to get sand on his hands and feet for the first time. He wasn't to sure at first but was ok with it. He didn't seem to mind too much. After lunch we had to go to back and start to get our stuff picked up. But we were able to sneak in a little more play time on the play ground.

We had an amazing time trip. The weather turned out amazing and the company was great as well!!!
